A while ago I found a blogger who had this fabulous recipe on her website and after seeing her pictures, we just HAD to try it with the kids.
And, now I HAVE to share it with all of you. Too good not to share (not to mention, LOTS of fun to make and watch rising…)
Chocolate Mug Cake
4 Tbs. flour
4 Tbs. sugar
2 Tbs. cocoa
3 Tbs. oil
3 Tbs. chocolate chips (we used peanut butter chips)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix well.
Pour in milk and oil and mix well.
Add choc. chips and vanilla extract
and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 mins. at
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t
be alarmed, it won’t overflow.
Allow to cool for a few minutes and then enjoy warm cake topped with melted chocolate, whipped cream or ice cream (or all of the above if you’re feeling decadent.)
As you can see, the kids LOVED it.
This was the PERFECT snack after a day of fun in the snow.
The kids enjoyed cups of hot cocoa, topped with whipped cream, with their cakes topped with Marcel Desaulniers’ decadent chocolate ganache and eventually fell into chocolate comas…..
