Menu Plan Monday ~ Holy Week, including our Seder

by debi9kids on April 1, 2012

What a wonderfully full and blessed week ahead of us, with
Holy Thursday and Good Friday for us to celebrate.
For the past few years, we’ve been celebrating Holy Thursday with a traditional Seder and all of us love it as a way to truly remember what this season, especially this week, is truly about.
(Of course, linking with Organizing Junkie , the Goddess of all things organized 🙂

5th Week of Lent

Sunday: Chinese Take-Out

Monday: smoked pork chops, au gratin potatoes, sauteed zucchini, tomato and onions

Tuesday: Nanny Deb’s lasagna, crusty bread and side salad

Wednesday: white chicken chili and corn bread

Holy Thursday: Formal Traditional Seder: roast chicken (because the kids don’t like lamb), spinach, green salad, Ratatouille, homemade unleavened bread, kosher red wine & a ritual platter filled with the following ceremonial foods arranged on it: green herbs (parsley or lettuce), bitter herb (horseradish), a boiled egg, and haroseth. And, using this guide for celebrating the Seder properly and fully.

Good Friday:(meatless): grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup

Saturday: Breakfast for Dinner: pancakes, sausage, and fresh fruit
